Previous Questions Asked by TPDs

Is it free to create a Microsoft Form? (Survey)

Yes, it's free and quick to create a Microsoft account that enables you to make a Form (survey).

How long does it take to create a Form for my deanery?

It should take you no longer than 5-10 minutes and will likely save you plenty of time by automatically pulling through all trainee's preferences into a spreadsheet.

What should I include on my Form?

The Form will need to suit the unique needs of your deanery, so the options you provide for trainees to answer will vary.

It is advisable to include a description, for example. (Feel free to copy and paste)

"Do not include any sensitive information on this Form.

Please email me at TPD'sname@nhs.net if you prefer to submit your preferences directly or if you would like to communicate any information you deem to be sensitive.

Preferencing does not guarantee a preferred hospital allocation, placements will be allocated according to trainee requirements and hospital provisions.

Please submit responses by INCLUDE DATE".

Can I use my NHS email account to create a Form?

Yes, you should have access to Microsoft Forms with your NHS account.

If you see  "Your organisation has not enabled Microsoft Forms for your current account".
Speak to your local IT department who should be able to enable Forms for you.

What does enrolling on the RTC-I involve?

After informing us that you would like to enrol, you will be added to our distribution list to be updated only on new means of allocating trainees. This could be:

  • Excel formatting improvements

  • Re-utilisation of current ranking software

  • Bespoke software, developed and funded by NHS grants.

I have been asked to be/ I would like to be an RTC-I Ambassador, what does this mean?

In addition to enrolling, being listed as an RTC-I Ambassador highlights to others that you endorse the initiative and, with your consent, agree to be publically listed as an Ambassador for us. The power of collaboration cannot be underestimated. We are all in this together and your public support may be the extra oomph needed to encourage other TPDs.
